Perimembranous VSD in an adult #1

This adult presented with increasing shortness of breath and was diagnosed with a perimembranous ventricular septum defect. Here the defect is demonstrated as a relatively small hole and it is shown by with retracting the septal leaflet of the tricuspid valve which is inferior in the picture and the anterior leaflet which is to the left and superior in the picture revealing a hole. Often the perimembranous defect when it presents in an adult will involve tissue that is incorporated in the tricuspid leaflet which makes repair fairly simple.
